We do a lot of trail running back home so we were a little worried this would feel too tame, but the pace up to the rock was honestly a solid workout, and the guide kept things loose and funny the whole way. Snack break at the top with that view was worth the whole flight over.

Overall a genuinely great day out and I'd recommend it to almost anyone visiting Stavanger. The tunnel crossing was a fun surprise, the guide clearly knew the trail cold, and the group size kept things personal instead of feeling like a herd. My only real gripe is that the return drive felt a bit rushed since our guide was clearly trying to beat some traffic back into town, so the last stretch felt less relaxed than the rest of the day. Still very much worth doing.

Went in expecting a nice walk with a view at the end and came out having had an actual adventure. The guide pointed out a hidden side trail about two-thirds of the way up that apparently isn't always open depending on conditions, and we got lucky that day. Fewer people on that stretch, quieter views of the fjord, and it made the final approach to the rock feel special rather than like the last leg of a queue. The commercial-licensed van and driver detail also put my partner's nerves at ease about the mountain roads, which mattered more than I expected going in.

Coming from Hokkaido we're used to mountains, but Preikestolen's flat top still surprised me — you can walk right up to the edge and just sit there. The hiking snack at the top was a nice touch too.

A well-organised and genuinely memorable day. The guide's knowledge of the trail and the geology of the fjord added a lot of depth to what could otherwise just be a scenic walk. Booking and communication before the tour were smooth, and the pickup was exactly on time. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that the group briefing at basecamp ran a little long for our taste, and a few of us were eager to just start walking. Minor point in an otherwise excellent experience that I'd recommend without hesitation.

My parents joined us on this hike and I was nervous about the difficulty level going in, since neither of them hikes regularly. The guide was incredibly patient, adjusted the pace without making it obvious, and made sure we took breaks at exactly the right spots. We all made it to the top together, and honestly watching my mother's face when she saw Lysefjorden from the ledge is a memory I'll keep for a long time. As someone who hikes a lot in the Black Forest, I came in with fairly high expectations for trail organisation and safety, and this tour cleared the bar easily. The guide carried proper first-aid supplies, briefed the group thoroughly on the exposed sections near the top, and kept a genuinely good pace that let stronger and slower hikers stay together as one group instead of splitting apart. The drive through the underwater tunnel was an unexpected bonus, and the views across Lysefjorden from the plateau are something photos really don't do justice. Fully recommended for anyone reasonably fit.

We booked this as a spontaneous add-on during a longer Scandinavia trip and it ended up being the thing everyone back home has asked us most about. The pickup was punctual, the guide's storytelling about the fjord's geology made the drive fly by, and the hike itself struck a great balance between challenging and manageable for a mixed-fitness group like ours. Reaching the top and seeing that famous flat rock in person, with almost no barrier between you and the drop, is a completely different feeling than seeing it in photos. Would happily do it again on a return visit.
